Someone asked me, "I have a friend who...
is confused by the holiday pay specially this April 9 which is both Bataan Day and Maundy Thursday, two regular holidays. April 10 is Good Friday, a Regular Holiday while April 11 is Black Saturday, a Special Holiday.
My answer is Regular Holidays are paid 100% even if not worked. If worked, then pay again so employee gets total of 200%. Special Holidays are no work no pay. If not work, the employee gets nothing. If worked, they get paid 130%. For double regular holidays, if no worked, then pay 200%. If worked, then they get paid 300%. This rule of Dole below is instructional.
